AMD introduces the ATI Radeon HD 4770 with new RV740 GPU, developed in 40nm tehnology. New GPU belongs to HD4000 family and it comes with 512MB GDDR5 video memory, and a double-height cooler allows video card to operate at 750MHz, The 40nm manufacturing process seems to have advantages in two areas: bringing power consumption to a more manageable level of around 80W under load and allowing core to run at reasonably high clocks. At idle, the Radeon HD 4770 reference build recorded a warm 54°C, and under load that number raised to 76°C.
